Entre el 6 y 10 de junio se realiza la nueva edición de RightsCon, un evento organizado por Access Now que reúne a activistas, periodistas, autoridades de gobierno y organizaciones de la sociedad civil para reflexionar, discutir y compartir en torno a las intersecciones entre tecnología y derechos humanos.

Desde Sursiendo, en el marco de este encuentro, brindaremos el taller “Herramienta para la sistematización de experiencias de acompañamientos en fortalecimiento de capacidades digitales”, el miércoles 8 de junio a las 11:30 am (UTC -5).

Durante los años de trabajo con organizaciones defensoras de derechos humanos y del territorio apoyando a fortalecer sus capacidades digitales y el uso de software libre para su cuidado y defensa, hemos encontrado que uno de los problemas más recurrentes al que nos enfrentamos es la falta de tiempo dedicado a la documentación y sistematización de nuestras propias experiencias que nos permitan contar con aprendizajes significativos para mejorar nuestras prácticas. Esta es una problemática que se repite en otros grupos que apoyan defensores, y esa fue también nuestra motivación a la hora de proponer esta herramienta. El conocimiento del camino andado y la intención de compartir experiencias está allí, viva en cada conversación donde sale el tema. Sin embargo tampoco contábamos con una metodología ajustada a nuestras necesidades como organizaciones defensoras de los derechos digitales. La suma de elementos mencionados nos impulsó nos solo a desarrollar nuestra propia experiencia de sistematización sino a diseñar una herramienta metodológica que facilite esta tarea para otros grupos. Este taller se propone navegar sus partes y, sobre todo, probar y conversar en torno a las diferentes propuestas que en ella se encuentran para mejorar la propia herramienta y entusiasmar a otras organizaciones a emprender la importante tarea de generar mayor conocimiento sobre nuestras experiencias y fortalecer así el avance de los derechos humanos y digitales.

Tool for the systematization of experiences in digital skill-building accompaniments

During the years of working with human rights and environmental organisations to strengthen their digital capacities and the use of free software for their protection, we have found that one of the most frequent problems we face is the lack of time dedicated to documenting and systematising our own experiences, which would allow us to learn significant lessons in order to improve our practices. This is a problem that is repeated in other groups that support defenders, and that was also our motivation in proposing this tool. The intention to share these experiences is there, alive in every conversation where the topic comes up. However, we also did not have a methodology adapted to our needs as digital rights organisations. The combination of the above elements encouraged us not only to develop our own systematisation experience, but also to design a methodological tool to facilitate this exercise for other groups. This workshop aims to navigate its parts and, most importantly, to test and discuss the different proposals it contains in order to improve the tool itself and to inspire other organisations to undertake the important task of generating greater knowledge about our experiences and therefore strengthen the advancement of human and digital rights.
